Lightning Detectors
Lightning detectors are now used at major outdoor events such as
concerts, sporting events, golf courses, as well as industrial
activities that are highly exposed to the threat of lightning. A
number of electronic devices are available from the simple to
sophisticated. Some devices claim to be accurate to be within 1-2
mile 97% of the time.
Another warning device is a radio with a weather alert feature that
receive the NOAA weather station for current local conditions. The
alert applies to all kinds of weather including hurricanes,
tornadoes, and some violent thunderstorms.
